Safeguarding

Wren Spinney is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all our students. Everyone who comes into contact with children and their families has a role to play and school staff are particularly important as they are in a position to identify concerns early. the school is expected to ensure that appropriate procedures are in place for responding to situations in which it believes that a child has been abused or is at risk of abuse.

At any time you may be concerned about information which suggests a child is being neglected or experiencing physical, emotional or sexual harm.

You may observe physical signs, notice changes in the child's behaviour or presentation, pick up signs of emotional distress or have a child disclose a harmful experience to you.

Safeguarding referrals may be made direct in the following ways:

Ringing the MASH on 0300 126 1000

Email to the MASH at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

In an emergency outside office hours, by contacting the Emergency Duty team or the police.

OR If you have a concern, you MUST report it - inform the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) or Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL) without delay (or Chair of Governors where appropriate).

Make a written record (using the child's own words), sign and date it then pass the record ot the DSL/DDSL.

At Wren Spinney Headteacher Simon Bishop is our DSL and  Deputy Head  Joy Ward and School Business Manager Ann Brown are both DDSL.
